During senior year I decided to take a statistics class because I had never taken a class like it before. Going into it, I thought it would be much harder than it actually was. Despite the harder sections, having someone that could teach it and teach it well made it much easier and more fun to learn about. We did so many different things this year and I learned so much about statistics and how to use a calculator. I learned how to use my calculator in ways I didn’t even know existed. I think this will help me in life even after I graduated, and I can’t say that about every class I took this year so I am happy about that. Not only did I learn new things on the calculator but we learned so many new formulas and equations that we took notes on and vocabulary we used to interpret what we were learning. The tests in this class were nothing to stress about. Although some tests were a great challenge, having a formula sheet during the test was very helpful, along with getting partial credit on problems where you showed that you mostly knew what you were talking about but didn’t quiet have the correct answer. That partial credit was very helpful to me this year. In most classes it’s not like that. If you get the answer wrong, the whole problem was wrong. I am taking an abundance of knowledge about statistics and probability away from this class. I am proud of myself for learning as much as I did and doing as well as I did in this class. Especially because I thought this class may be a challenge for me. What helped me a lot was all the notes we took on every lesson. We took great notes all year long so now if I decide to take a stats class in college I know I have some things to take into it. Something this year that was most difficult for me to do was the probability. It was hard to visualize the probability of things in my head. The project that we did after the notes helped me better visualize it, but I would say one of the hardest most challenging chapters of the year was probability. Overall, I am very happy I took this class. I feel like I have more common sense than I did before the class. I feel like I am prepared for a college stats class. Thank you Mrs. Lewis for teaching this class as well as you did! I enjoyed it.
